Undercontested Wards 2012

I was asked earlier today whether any Scottish wards have gone uncontested this year.  Thankfully, from a psephologist's perspective, every voter in Scotland will have a chance to choose their Councillors this year as once again, as in 2007, every single ward is contested.

However, there are a number of wards across Scotland that have been "minimally contested" - having only one more candidate than seats - and indeed in some of these cases one of the candidates has very little chance of winning, making the seat effectively uncontested from an outcome perspective.

These wards are listed below for the benefit of the original person who asked me and anyone else interested.
